About bestsideofyou

bestsideofyou is a small, independent team. We built a tool that interviews you about your life and turns your real stories into a Hinge profile: three prompt answers written from your own words, and six of your own photos chosen and ordered, each with a reason. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by Hinge or Match Group.

Why we built it

Most dating profiles aren't bad because the person is boring. They're bad because writing about yourself is awkward, so people reach for the safe version: a list of hobbies, a joke from the internet, a photo from four years ago. The good material is usually there. It just never makes it onto the profile.

Our rules

• Nothing invented. Every line we write for you comes from something you told us, and we show you which answer it came from.
• No fake photos. We choose from photos you upload. We can fix light and framing; we never generate new photos or change your face, body or age.
• No clichés. We keep a blocklist of phrases that show up on too many profiles, and our writing tool won't use them.
• No promises about results. Nobody can honestly promise you a number of likes or matches. We'll tell you what tends to work and why.
• Your data is yours. Photos are deleted after 30 days, and you can delete everything at any time.

How we write these guides

The guides on this site are written by our team. We read a lot of profiles and write every example ourselves; none of them belong to real people. When we say something about how Hinge works, it's because Hinge has said it publicly, and we link to it. When it's our opinion, we label it as opinion. Each page shows when it was last updated.
