Why did my Hinge likes suddenly stop?

If your Hinge likes stopped after a good start, it's usually a mix of three things: the early burst many people notice when they first join has worn off, you may have seen most of the people nearby, or your profile has gone a little stale. You can fix the last one today. The checklist below helps you rule out the rest.

- My photos are still recent, and my first photo is still my best
- I've updated at least one prompt since I made the profile
- My profile doesn't contradict itself (old photos, outdated job, a trip I took years ago)
Your settings and area
- I haven't narrowed my age range, distance or dealbreakers recently
- I haven't moved, or changed my location, since likes dropped
- I'm not in a small area where I may have seen most people nearby
Your habits
- I use the app regularly, not in bursts
- I'm reading profiles before liking, not liking everyone
Refresh, don't restart
A new first photo and one rewritten prompt give people who already scrolled past you a reason to look again. Pick prompts that show a different side of you than before. If your current answers are all jokes, try something warmer, like “My simple pleasures”. If they're all sincere, add a playful “Dating me is like”.
Make your answers more specific
Specific answers are easier to like. Compare two answers to “I go crazy for”:
Coffee and good food.
Filter coffee from the place on 3rd that still uses a hand grinder. It takes eight minutes. Worth it.
The same goes for “The way to win me over is”: one small, real thing beats a list of qualities.
What to change first
